Driving by Car

Albany is 416km South East of Perth. The most direct route from Perth is along the Albany Highway. The journey from Perth to Albany takes about 4.5hrs. There are several roadhouses on route which sell fuel and food.

Suggested stops on route

  • A popular stop in Williams, 160km south of Perth on the Albany Hwy is the Williams Wool Shed. The Wool Shed has a number of interesting shops of “Australian Made” products, art, craft and displays and a café that serves delicious food.
  • The Kojonup Visitor Centre is also worth a visit. Situated on Albany Hwy, 260km south of Perth, the Visitor Centre provides a free information service and an attractive retail outlet of "Australian Made" products. In the same building as the Kojonup Visitor Centre is the Kodja Place which has interesting exhibits displaying Noogar and Wadjela (Aborigine) artifacts, art and craft. Also on the same site, for lovers of roses, there is a unique Australian Rose Maze, and for the hungry, The Black Cockatoo Cafe serves a range of delicious foods.
